Springhill Volunteer Fire Department

The Springhill Fire Department serves our community with dedication and compassion. Our volunteer team protects lives, property, and the environment—

always ready, 24/7, to answer the call and keep Springhill and Cumberland County safe

Private & Group Events

The hall is available to rent for 4 hours, all day or $30 per hour, keep in mind the time you choose includes setup and cleanup time. If you rent the hall for 4 to 8, no one will be there before 4 to let you in, and you need to be done by 8, so plan your time accordingly.

It can be rented for shows, sales, meetings, training, parties, dances, weddings. if you need it we can probably accomodate you.

About Our Department

Through the years more and more has been loaded onto, not just ours but all “Fire” Departments. Today fire departments still deal with the variety of fire calls, but we also respond to medical calls, community assistance call and non-emergency community requests

How Can We Help!

Along with the traditional fire services, we have members who are:

Educators: members who enjoy getting out in the community and teaching people about fire prevention, fire and life safety. We can tailor a presentation from pre-primary to seniors

Trained in Pet First Aid

Certified in car seat instalation

What Else Do We Do?

“Rent the hall for meetings, training, parties, shows, dances, we can accommodate from 10 to 200

Do you need snacks, a light lunch, or a meal for your event, we can do that!

We do a “Boot Drive” twice a year to support the food bank, Food for thought and other charities, (In the last 3 years we have raised over $50,000 in food and cash)

We support our Partner Agencies, working with MADD on the Red Ribbon Campaign, RCMP Traffic Unit on car seat checks.

We support and promote the “move over” campaign.

We have bursaries for graduating students

We accomplish all this and still have our full time jobs. Remember we are all volunteers!

You can rent the hall for a show or fair, meetings to a formal dinner or event. Send us an email if you have questions

Municipality of Cumberland Mayor Rod Gilroy helped launch MADD Canada’s Red Ribbon Campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, with members of the Springhill detachment of the RCMP, the Springhill Fire Department, Cumberland North MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin and EHS.

The food drive days always seem to be cold and wet, but we are proud of the community support we get to give to others. The food drive supports the Springhill Food Bank, Food for Thought and usually one other group that varies year to year

Clothing can take 6 to 8 weeks for delivery
